Company Profile of Chillwide (Pty) Ltd. T/A Chillrite Refrigeration

Chillrite was established in November 1979 by Mr. D. Lombaard who was previously employed by Airomatatic (Pty) Ltd. in Pretoria as a regional service manager. This was an owner run business for two years after which the client base grew so rapidly that more employees were necessary.

At that stage Chillrite's clients were the likes of Solly Kramers Liquor Stores, Rebel Liquor Stores, Western Province Cellars, Liquor Towns and Hi Spirit Hotels, Bottle Stores as well as Southern Sun Hotels and Holiday Inns.

During 1994, Chillrite established a factory for the manufacturing of cold & freezer room panels as well as undercounter refrigerators. Once again more staff was required to drive the new venture. With this addition to the range of services a wider spectrum of clients were attracted i.e. supermarkets, butcheries, meat, fruit and vegetable processing plants. Chillrite also started catering for the export market and was very successful because we were prepared to travel into Africa to do installations.

During 1994, it was decided to break away from the owner run business and Chillwide (Pty) Ltd. was registered (Co reg. No. 94/0504/07) in order to create a more professional approach to the marketplace.

The stability of the company lies in the fact that during 1997 we erected a 600 square meter factory and a 100 square meter office complex in Benoni. The factory was mechanised with a computerised cut to length sheetmetal decoiling machine as well as an automatic lockfroming machine which enable us to manufacture up to 10 m continuous insulated panels and currently the property, factory building, machinery, vehicles and other equipment is unbonded to any financial institution or creditors.

At present, Chillwide (Pty) Ltd. can offer a wide range of products such as:

• Cold and Freezer rooms of any size
• Ice making equipment up to 12 tonnes per day
• Supermarket cabinets
• Catering equipment
• Air conditioning systems
