Chillrite Panel Specifications and Options

Panel Construction:
Panels are constructed on a prefabricated modular basis and are of the interlocking type with tongue and groove jointing systems, thus eliminating the need for a joiner mould or cover strip. Panel's joints, both externally and internally are effectively sealed with a suitable silicone sealant, ensuring an effective vapour seal, and hygienic finish.

Insulation:
Panels are laminated using 16 Density polystyrene with two-pack polyurethane adhesive.

Insulation Thickness:
The following chart is a general guide for the selection of insulation thickness:

Operating Temperature

5DC to 0DC
0DC to - 5DC
-25DC
-30DC to -40DC

Suggested Insulation Range
75mm to 100mm
100mm
120mm to 150mm
200mm

Factors influencing the thermal efficiency would include location, ambient temperatures, relative humidity and refrigeration equipment capacities and efficiency.

Cladding/Finish:
All panels are clad in white Chromadek finish inside and outside.

Floor:
Insulated floors are generally only applicable in freezer rooms, however in certain instances it may be necessary to insulate chiller floors, for instance where such a chiller room is situated in a multi-story building.

Option A:
Pre-fabricated floor - The floor consists of insulated panels similar to the walls and ceiling, but with a galvanised finish. Depending on the application, floors can be further reinforced with marine ply and/or an aluminium checker plate-wearing surface.

Option B:
Insulated concrete floor - The floor insulated is laid on a 300 micron vapour barrier with all joints tightly butted together and a polythene top sheet. A concrete wearing slab is then cast over the insulation. Concrete thickness and strengths can vary to meet particular applications. In certain instances a 25mm layer of polystyrene would be placed prior to laying of the barrier. This is done to reduce the risk of puncturing the vapour barrier. All builders work to be done by specialists.

Sliding Doors:
Sliding doors will consist of insulated Chromadek panels, with heavy-duty floor guides and extruded aluminium gear adjustable hangers. The doors are equipped with extruded aluminium "D" type handles on the outside and flush handles on the inside. Doors are lockable by means of a padlock, with emergency internal release mechanism as a standard feature. The door gasket consist of silicon rubber extrusion, secured to the door leaf using aluminium extrusion and self tapping screws, making this easy to replace for maintenance purposes. The doors are provided with a sturdy frame / architrave in matching Chromadek finish. Freezer doors will be provided with steel floor sills and self-limiting heater tapes.

Hinged Doors:
Hinged doors consist of insulated Chromadek panels. These doors are provided with edge mounted hinges and a safety release latch. The door gaskets are clip in magnetic seals for ease of changing. Freezer doors and are fitted with self-limiting heaters.

PVC Strip Curtains:
Doors can be provided with PVC strip curtains. The strips are supported from a unique galvanised hanger allowing the strips to swivel and to be removed individually for maintenance purposes.

Guarantee:
Our insulated panels carry a 2 (two) year guarantee on delamination. All products carry a two-year guarantee against faulty materials and workmanship. Wear and tear on locks, hinges, gaskets and heater elements are excluded.
